As young teens from diverse backgrounds, we have noticed that there is a lack of intercultural connection within our community. This is important to our team because all of our team members are ethnically diverse, and we would like to provide the opportunity for people to connect just like how we are through this service project. This project is also important to our community because we believe that our community is in need of a fun event that is not just for local citizens, but one that can be open to our entire county. |
Additionally, part of the proceeds will go to the Melanoma Research Alliance, the leading nonprofit for funding melanoma research (skin cancer).
We applied and received a $500 grant, but we need volunteers to create baskets, secure food trucks, bring umbrellas, move chairs and tables, promote the event, collect donations to the Melanoma Research Alliance (MRA) etc. Our goal is to raise $1000 for MRA.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
