St. John's Lutheran Church of Aspen Hill distributes food to neighbors in need on the third Sunday of the month. Come help us distribute food to our neighbors on June 16, July 21, and August 18. Opportunities include coming at 11:30 am to help unload food from the truck that "So What Else" uses to bring recovered food and set up this food and bags of food. This will last until approximately 1:00 pm (1.5 hours total), and volunteers will be expected to lift boxes of 25-50 pounds. The other opportunity is to come at 2:30 until approximately 5:00 pm (2.5 hours) to help with the distribution of the food. Jobs during this shift include helping with the distribution of the food, re-loading food tables as needed, and breaking down of boxes and clean up.

Student participation in this service project is at the discretion of the student’s parent/guardian and must be completed outside of school hours. The nonprofit organization is responsible for maintaining student safety. Parents/guardians should contact the nonprofit directly with any questions and/or concerns.
